Congratulations to all of you who have joined the 40-Day Challenge! For those of you not familiar, Monday was my 40th birthday. I committed to the following wellness choices in the next 40 days:
- Drink at least 80 ounces of water daily
- Get 20 minutes of activity daily
- Journal what I eat daily (I am enjoying immensely using Calorie King as an online food and exercise diary - check it out!)
No crazy regimens, just these 3 simple choices. I put out my commitment to a core group, and six people have jumped on board. You're still welcome to join us, if you like!
Yesterday was not a shining food day for me - I chose some mega calories. For example, did you know that an average medium-sized
Dairy Queen Blizzard is going to cost you in the neighborhood of 700 calories? WOW! I now know when I want the blizzard, I have the opportunity to choose extra cardio and fitness to offset that sinful pleasure. :)
If there's one thing my trainer
Tom Dueber has taught me, it's that weight maintenance and loss is simple - calories in and calories out. The more you eat, the more you need to exercise to either maintain or lose weight.
